Global Star Capital Charities

About the Author: Known to high-net-worth private investors as well as entrepreneurs looking to bring their visions to life, Founder of Global Star Capital Rich Cocovich also enjoys following the game of golf. As a member of Palmetto Hall Plantation Club, Mr. Cocovich supports the charity group Birdies for the Brave.

Sponsored by PGA TOUR Charities, Inc., Birdies for the Brave seeks to aid individuals serving in our country’s military. Originally established by pro golfer Phil Mickelson and his wife as a charity devoted to helping servicemen and women injured in combat, Birdies for the Brave raises money throughout the year for the U.S. Armed Forces. When Mickelson makes a birdie (one stroke under par) during the season, a donation of $100 is made to Homes for Our Troops and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and when he makes an eagle (two strokes under par), $500 is donated.

From these small beginnings, Birdies for the Brave expanded and now comprises several different avenues for assisting members of the military. These include events held during PGA TOUR events to honor the men and women of the military, care packages sent to troops stationed in foreign countries, and various fundraising events.

Proceeds raised at Birdies for the Brave events go toward a number of groups in the U.S. Department of Defense’s America Supports You Initiative. These groups help servicemen and women cope with various challenges associated with long-term physical separation. For example, United Through Reading brings families together through the act of reading aloud. Homes for Our Troops builds specially adapted homes for veterans returning to the United States with severe physical injuries.

In addition to Phil Mickelson, PGA players participating in Birdies for the Brave include Corey Pavin, Rory Sabbatini, and Vijay Singh. The charity’s activities are made possible by contributions of time, money, and in-kind donations of corporate sponsors such as Aaron’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Chick-fil-A. The generous efforts of these companies and PGA players enable Birdies for the Brave to make life a little easier for the courageous men and women serving their country overseas.

Rich Cocovich welcomes all solvent and prepared principals of projects to follow the Global Star Capital protocol in full by starting at the OUR PROCESS section of the company website www.globalstarcapital.com orwww.globalstarcapital.net.
